Alexandria Fleeger

You know the kids who had always grown up in church? Well that’s me; I have been in the church my entire life. Does that mean I have always been a Christian? Absolutely not. I grew up constantly hearing that Jesus loves me and died for me, so I thought, “okay sure I’ll buy that.” I attended church every time the doors were open and Jesus loved me! But honestly I couldn’t have cared less about a close relationship with God.

At the age of fifteen all of the stories about Jesus I had heard and His love became real to me. Our church had a guest pastor come in and man this guy could preach! As I sat there I thought about Jesus being completely innocent having nails that should have been mine driven through His hands and feet, dying the death that I should have died. He bore upon His back my cross, my sin. That night I accepted Jesus as my Savior.

That great event in my life happened three years ago, I am now a senior in high school. Over the years I have had many “plans” for college but none ever came close to going to school to prepare to become a missionary, which is what God has laid on my heart. I now long for a closer relationship with my God and want to know more of His word. Before I came to know Christ, missions was not even an option, but when He becomes the most important thing in your life His will is all that matters.

There’s more to life than breathing and feeling – Real life is only found in Jesus Christ.
