Allen West

I was born into a loving Christian home. The first nine years of my life were what I considered to be perfect. Life was simple, playing little league, going camping on the weekends, being active at my school. But that changed quickly when suddenly my father (and my hero) became sick and passed away. Two years later my younger brother was killed in a bicycle accident. At eleven years old I was confused, scared and angry. I put a lot of the blame for my problems on God.

When I was twelve years old we had a guest speaker at my church and during the service something came over me that I had never felt before. I was convicted that I was not the person I needed to be. I realized that I was a sinner and that God loved me enough to send his only Son to die for my sins. That night I prayed for God to forgive me of my sins and I gave my life to Jesus Christ.

That decision completely changed my life! All that confusion, anger and fear dissolved. My church became a big part of my life. My Christian growth was slow during my teenage years, but the more I studied my Bible and the more I learned about Jesus the more I wanted to serve Him no matter what. I had a greater purpose in life than just existing. Committing your life to Jesus Christ isn’t always easy, but it is exciting and worth it. Jesus Christ changed my life.

There’s more to life than breathing and feeling – Real life is only found in Jesus Christ.
