Chris Diehl

I was baptized without salvation at the age of 10. Being a preacher’s kid I thought that is what I was supposed to do. Following in the same mold I heard over and over how bad preacher’s kids were supposed to be, so I did everything I could to live up to what was expected of me.

I was making chaos in math class in junior high school, when the subsitute teacher asked me aren’t you a preacher’s kid? Sarcastically I said “yeah, and I am living up to it too.” He said “no you’re not; are you a Christian; Christians don’t act that way.” That made me think why haven’t I changed? As the week went on this teacher and I talked, lunch after Lunch, then at Falls Creek this teacher lead me to Christ. He showed me that only Jesus could save me, not my dad or the church.

I studied the Word, went to a Christian school and lived for Him for a while. Then as a teen and young adult I followed the world. I shook my fist at God and told everyone I had done enough church for two eternities. Then on May 8th a tornado showed up at my front door and I could hear God saying “YOU HAVE SHAKEN YOUR FIST AT ME FOR THE LAST TIME”. I fell to my knees and asked His forgiveness. I will follow Him, HE is in contriol now.

There’s more to life than breathing and feeling – Real life is only found in Jesus Christ.
