The greatest gift a parent can give a child is a loving Christian home. As a little girl I was taught about God and easily accepted as truth all the stories of the Bible. But at the age of six, during a spring revival, I first experienced a truth taught in the Bible: I was a sinner. I vividly remember those moments of my conversion. I knew I had sinned, I confessed my sin, and I asked to be forgiven of my sin. That very night I was saved—eternally saved.

God put people of great influence in my life. In addition to my parents, God blessed me with leaders and teachers that taught me early in life the importance of centering my life in God and serving Him. Life was good—and I assumed it would always be. But as a very young adult, my dreams all shattered and I was left with only broken pieces. It was then that I learned why God is called the great “I Am”. When I would ask God who was going to help me, he would respond, “I am.”

Through all these years, never once has God failed me. God has proven Himself to be faithful; the anchor that holds in the storm. It is now my time to tell others about this God that is the great “I Am.” I can tell those with shattered dreams that He is faithful. I can say with absolute certainty that He is the God who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think or dream. I’m forever thankful that He is the foundation that never shatters. How Firm a Foundation!
