Diana Stewart

My life was a mess before I met Jesus. I was a 26 year old single mother of one looking for love in all the wrong places. I called myself a Christian, and even attended church some. However I had no idea what the Bible had to say about finding connection with God through a personal relationship with Jesus. Instead I had the mistaken idea that if my good actions were more than my bad ones, I would be allowed in heaven when I died. Thankfully, someone loved me enough to correct that false theology and tell me the truth about God’s rescue plan.

I was blessed to fall in love with a follower of Christ. He opened the Bible and showed me that all people had sinned and that included me. Then he showed me the bad news. The Bible says the penalty for my sin was death, meaning eternal separation from God in a prison called hell. Thankfully, the bad news was followed by the good news that Jesus, who had no sin of His own came to pay the “death penalty” for MY sin as a substitute so I could be forgiven! I also learned that I could never undo my many mistakes by being good. Instead god offers His rescue plan as a free gift. Ephesians 2:8-9 says: 8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. Once I heard how to connect to God, I believed the message and it truly changed my life.

“I had no idea what the Bible had to say about finding connection with God through a personal relationship with Jesus.”

At this writing it has been 43 years since I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I have experienced mountain tops and valleys. My husband died last year. However, through the ups and downs I can tell you that the Lord’s presence has been real in my life. He has directed my steps and comforted me when I was hurting. He has supplied my needs and cared for me. He has filled my life with satisfaction. I have joy because of God’s work in me. I am so grateful to my husband for leading me to Jesus. I am even more thankful to God for rescuing me and giving me a brand new life. One day I will have the privilege of seeing my husband again because knowing Jesus is a guarantee of heaven. Do you know Jesus? If not, I hope you will consider what I have said. God is waiting for you right now. The Bible says in Romans 10:13: For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

There’s more to life than breathing and feeling – Real life is only found in Jesus Christ.
