Dylan Michel

I always had an intellectual belief in God, but instead of living for him, I was living to impress others. I started hanging out with the “cool kids” in high school and engaged in all kinds of debauchery. In college, I started seeking my definition of success, which was a career with potential to make me rich, so I would look impressive to the world. All this self-seeking ambition and hedonism left me feeling empty inside. I thought to myself “there has to be more to life than this.” So, I finally prayed to God for help.

God led me to a church where I learned about the Gospel. God revealed to me that I am a sinner and that has separated me from Him. The penalty for my sin is eternal separation from Him. I am in need of a savior because of my sin and that God sent his only son, Jesus Christ, to die and be that savior. I decided to place my faith in Christ and so doing, I am set free from the power of sin and I have a new identity in Christ, through a relationship with Him.

My identity is in Christ! What a freeing feeling! The need for approval of others is unnecessary because I have a God in heaven who loves me and is pleased with me. Since I accepted Christ, He has been working in my heart to transform me to be more like Himself. I am slowly becoming free from opinions of others and am more able to live the life God intended me to live.

There’s more to life than breathing and feeling – Real life is only found in Jesus Christ.
