I grew up in a small town just south of Tallahassee called Crawfordville. Those of us from here affectionately refer to it as “The County.” Wakulla County was typically small town life. It was accepted to be a church kid, so that’s what I did. However, the act didn’t last long and in college, I turned to the party scene as my way of acceptance.
It was actually on my way home from one of these parties that God brought to mind just how pointless my life was. I was headed down a dead-end street of selfishness, and I knew God wanted control of my life. The things I was doing on the weekend were not pleasing to God. I remembered that Jesus had died and was raised again because of those things. So I asked Him to forgive me and made Him my boss.
Since then…life has been perfect. I’ve got everything figured out. Wouldn’t that me nice if it were true. The truth is that life is an adventure now that I am a follower of Jesus. I’d like to say I never do anything that is wrong by God, but that’s not true. However, I know God doesn’t hold that against me because of what Jesus has done for me. It is a life that is full, a life I would never trade no matter what.
