As the daughter of a small-town preacher, I knew about Jesus early. I officially met Him when I was saved around age 9. Much like small-town life in general, I noticed little change; I was just a good little girl.
While I loved Jesus, I was too afraid of change to do anything big about it. I wasn’t challenged much. Not until my junior year of high school did God start to really shake me up. Why was I just being a “goody-goody”? Surely there’s more to it than that.
Since coming to college, my life has been rocked and rolled and flipped upside down and inside out. I can look back and see parts where no other reason but Jesus got me through those times. I’m less terrified of change and am now learning to welcome it. It’s making me grow and the difficulty has been worth it.
