Jennifer Wheeler

I grew up in a Christian home where we went to church every Sunday and prayed before meals. I accepted Christ when I was just ten years old.

It wasn’t until I got to college that I realized that I had a blind faith. Outside of church I would hardly ever open my bible and only prayed on occasions. I would just believe everything my pastor said without even looking it up in the bible. For the longest time I didn’t know why I believed the things that I believed. All I knew was that I was supposed to believe it. Once I got to college, I joined a campus ministry called Baptist Collegiate Ministry and started making friends who were also Christians. I realized that I wasn’t living my life for Christ, I was living it for me.

“It wasn’t until I got to college that I realized that I had a blind faith.”

Within the past few years, I have refocused my life towards Christ, I have become much stronger in my faith, and I have seen the many ways God has been working in my life. Now not only am I highly involved in Baptist Collegiate Ministry, I am also the current president. My walk with Christ has become so much more personal now. Even though I fall short all of the time, I am doing what I can to live my life for the Lord.

There’s more to life than breathing and feeling – Real life is only found in Jesus Christ.
