Joan Robinette

I was born in my grandparent’s farmhouse in Mulhall, OK. Growing up I thought the name of Jesus and God were just swear words. They meant nothing to me. Nothing concerning religion was ever mentioned. My grandmother would take me to a schoolhouse/church at Christmas time to get a big sack of candy. That’s the only time I was in church and didn’t know the true meaning of Christmas. As I look back I can see the hand of God on me even then. Also both my parents received Christ before they died. That’s how faithful my God is.
We moved to town when I was nine. Friends would ask me to spend the night with them and I would always have to go to Sunday School and church, much to my dislike. In junior high I met a friend who had something special about her. I went to church with her and she talked about the Lord. With the help of the Holy Spirit, I was convinced to receive Christ and was baptized. We are still friends today and love to get together and talk about what the Lord is doing in our lives.

Being a Christian is exciting!! The more I study the Bible and go to different Bible studies, the more I love Him and want to more about Him. He has been with me through many trials and I have always known He was present and tactfully working in my life. I ask Him each day to direct me in all that I do. I want to be in His will and not my own. I am content and confident that one day I will rest in the arms of the Lord.

There’s more to life than breathing and feeling – Real life is only found in Jesus Christ.
