When I was about 3 years old, my mother and father got a divorce. I didn’t know anything about it because I was too young. C So I grew up not expecting dad to come home or to be a part of the family. I had three brothers and I was the second to the oldest. My mother was a Christian and wanted her children to be Christians also. She took us to church every Sunday and we always went to Vacation Bible School. I accepted the Lord as my savior while attending a tent revival meeting.
After I became a Christian, I wanted to know all about God. I wanted to please Christ and make Hm happy. I started memorizing scripture, went to a Christian college, and started praying. It wasn’t easy to pray formally in a special place, but it was possible to pray small prayers throughout the day. My life had changed to a God-centered life. I was to learn much about the God-centered life and about how to live in the world. It was not easy for me.
I worked hard, studied hard, and raised a family on a meager income. I have been through many trials and hardships. But always I have held God close. Sometime I even doubted God and His teachings. But no matter what, I always came back. I liked God’s way. I still do and want to follow Him even more. I have found those that have Christ in their lives seem to be happier, more trustworthy, make better parents, and friends. Currently I attend Muldoon Road Baptist Church in Anchorage, Alaska.
