Not sure God has done anything for you?

Not sure God has done anything for you? No offense, but have you checked your pulse lately? Do you realize your heart will beat more than 3.3 billion times if you live to be 80?

Again, not meaning to be rude, but is that something you do for yourself? If your heart suddenly stopped, could you restart it yourself?

The apostle Paul told the men of Athens that God "gives all men life and breath and everything else" (Acts 17:25). The book of Job says that if God "withdrew his spirit and breath, all mankind would perish together" (Job 34.15).

But life and breath is just the beginning of the good things God has done for you.

Have you never basked in the peaceful glow of a sunset? Never felt the joy of a child's laughter? Never savored the taste of your favorite food? Never been grateful for a friend who stood by you through hard times?

That list can go on and on. What joy is there in life that isn't a gift from God? And the gifts come with no strings attached. We enjoy life's blessings whether or not we ever thank Him.

And if all that isn't enough, God loves you more than you even love yourself. He loves you so much that He allowed His own son, Jesus, to suffer and die so you could be free from the power of death and have a life that is full and free and forever.

God hasn't done anything for you -- He's done everything. And all He wants is for you to realize that and tell him how grateful you are.
