Growing up in Laurel, Mississippi, I thought I was in a loving family until the day that my dad left my mother, me and my three brothers. When dad left he never made any contact with us as young boys. I lacked a loving, caring “daddy” figure in my life. I didn’t think I would ever have that kind of relationship in my life.
As a teenager, I met a justice of the peace who invited me to church with his family. When I started going to church with them, I met that “daddy” person I had been longing for. I accepted Christ as my Savior and found out what it meant to have a loving, caring Father.
When God brought my wife into my life, I had allowed Him to grow me in such a way that I could love my wife and my children in a way I did not see as a child growing up.
