I was raised in a Christian home, but not one without its own set of problems. However, we did attend church on a regular basis. That didn’t necessarily prevent trouble in our home, but it did give me a place to turn when I began to feel an emptiness in my life. I knew that I needed something more, but it took a while before I realized that what I needed was Jesus.
It was August the 12th, and I was at Church Camp. During our services that evening, I couldn’t stand it any longer, so went to a camp counselor, and he helped lead me to Christ. After doing that, I felt like King of the Mountain. I had never felt so free in all of my life. We still had problems at home, but even with all of that, I knew Jesus, and he gave me a peace like I had never known in all of my life.
Today…I’m married with children of my own, and I can honestly say that God has led me all the way. Through the years as problems, hurts, joys, sad times have come, I have always been able to take them to Jesus. He has loved me, forgiven me, and rejoiced with me, time after time. He’s my Lord, my Friend, but most of all my Savior.
