Rita Rogers

I was born into a Catholic family and attended a Catholic school for 8 years. I attended church each day and studied Catechism in class.  In fifth grade I decided I wanted to be a nun, Sister Mary Agnes.  On Sundays our family attended church together.  (seven of us) I was baptized as an infant, received communion and was confirmed,  I was always a good girl and a rule follower. My family was loving and we had a strong family unit.  I loved God and Jesus!

When I was a freshman in college my roommate asked me to go to a revival with a group called Crusade for Christ.  As we were driving to Camp Egan a young lady asked me if I knew that when I died that I would go to heaven.  I sure didn’t want to go to Hell!  I explained to her that I tried to be good, went to church and had been raised in the Catholic faith.  She asked me if I had ever made a decision to repent of my sins and ask Jesus to be my personal Savior.  I knew the Holy Spirit was convicting me of my sin and moved in my heart.  I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I realized that all my time in church and my goodness wouldn’t save me.

I became a Christian 52 years ago,  I have tried to live my life to glorify the Lord.  My husband and I raised two children in our local church.  We are blessed that they accepted Jesus and married wonderful Christian spouses.  We have 5 grandchildren that are being raised in the faith and some have already accepted Jesus.  We have served our church and community for the last 50 years.  God has continued to bless us.  I never want to quit sharing my faith and serving Him, as long as the Lord keeps me on this earth.  Thank you Jesus for your saving grace!!

There’s more to life than breathing and feeling – Real life is only found in Jesus Christ.
