I grew up in a Christian home, with my parents taking my brother and I to church every Sunday morning and Wednesday night. I was involved in children’s choir, AWANAS, and VBS. I don’t think I fully understood the concept of being a sinful person, so I can’t remember a significant change in my life when I did accept Christ.
One afternoon, when I was 5 years old, I remember standing in my mother’s bathroom as she was getting ready, and we were talking about heaven and hell. She asked me if I wanted to go to heaven, and I said yes. She told me that I had to ask Jesus into my heart, so I prayed the prayer and was saved.

I continued to go to church with my family and be as involved as I could be. Between 8th and 10th grade, I fell away from the church and from God. It took falling flat on my face to realize how much I needed God in my life. I never fully understood what it meant to grow in Christ and in my relationship with Him until I found my current church home. I have grown more over the past year than I have my whole life. God is so good!

There’s more to life than breathing and feeling – Real life is only found in Jesus Christ.
